Sky Burial
On the Tibetan Plateau, due to the high altitude and barren soil, it is difficult to cremate or bury the dead. As a result, the tradition of "sky burial" emerged, where bodies are dismembered and fed to vultures. This practice gave rise to the role of the sky burial practitioner, responsible for performing prayers and guiding the souls of the deceased to the afterlife.
